Week 4: Madame Turquoise and Her Technicolor Dreamcoat of Mysteries

Welcome to Madame Turquoise and Her Technicolor Dreamcoat of Mysteries!

This week we are inspired by Afrofuturism (through the lens of Steampunk) and the musical Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Just like Joseph’s journey with his coat of many colors, this week we’re diving into the vibrant, ever-expanding mysteries woven into the threads of life itself. But instead of dreams of the past, we’re focusing on the power of intention, intuition, and energy that guides us forward.

Madame Turquoise’s coat is not just a garment—it’s a portal to discovery! Each color represents a chakra, a cosmic truth, an ancestral whisper. Through astrology, chromatherapy, aromatherapy, and ancestral reconnection, Madame Turquoise dons this sacred coat to guide, create, and inspire.

Violet for Crown — Our connection to the universe, where we draw divine wisdom.

Blue for Throat — Truth and communication, where voice becomes the vessel for knowledge.

Green for Heart — Compassion, healing, the center of love for self and others.

Yellow for Solar Plexus — Power, confidence, the spark that fuels personal transformation and action.

Orange for Sacral — Creation, joy, and the beautiful realm of desire and intuition.

Red for Root — Grounding, strength, our connection to the Earth and ancestors.

Join me as we explore the mysteries of the coat as we unlock the tools that help channel energy and offer healing.

MILESTONE: It Has Been A Year Since My Hospitalization

MILESTONE: It Has Been A Year Since My Hospitalization

LONG POST ALERT

What a difference a year makes…

Today marks one year since my hospitalization, and it’s a story of how ancestors can guide and move things on your behalf.

A year ago today, I was scheduled to fly to Atlanta for the second phase of my Tantric Shaman training. It was an unusual day because, unlike the norm, my mom, Bronnie Brooks, was taking me to the airport instead of my dad, John Brooks. I wasn’t feeling my best and had considered delaying my trip, but I pushed through.

My bags were packed, and my dad had placed them by the door for easy access when my mom arrived. I was struggling with my breathing and took longer than usual to get ready. By the time my mom arrived, my dad and stepmother had already left, so I didn’t get to see them.

Once we were in the car, I asked my mom to stop at the ATM so I could withdraw some money to tip the wheelchair attendants who’d be helping me at the airport. She had suggested I request assistance since I’d mentioned needing help during my recent trip to Indianapolis. My mom had already tried to talk me out of going, but I was determined to complete this training after working hard for two years.

At the ATM, I realized I didn’t have my wallet. This was strange, as I have a meticulous travel routine to avoid forgetting anything. We had to return home to get it, and I knew we’d be running late. On the drive back, I casually mentioned that I had considered canceling my trip. That’s when my mom broke down and said, “I want you to cancel this trip. If you do, we’re going to the doctor TODAY to find out what’s going on. But you’re grown, and I’ll do what you want—just know, it’ll be under duress.”

Being her only child, it was hard to say “No” because I knew if anything happened to me while I was away, it would weigh heavily on her…and my village.

Back at the house, my dad had returned, and I told him about forgetting my wallet. He went inside to get it for me. While he and my mom talked, I called my Tantric Shaman facilitator, Maisha Najuma Aza, and told her I was going to the doctor to figure out what was wrong. She said she’d had a feeling to cancel the session and told me to focus on getting well.

After that, my mom and I made two stops before heading to the Emergency Room at University of Maryland Capital Region. I had tried to convince her to wait until my doctor’s appointment in a few days, but she was adamant—no delays. When we got to the hospital, she dropped me off, and I went inside to explain my symptoms. I didn’t expect it, but I was admitted and kept for 12 days. During my stay, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Disease (PAD). My condition was caused by my weight putting pressure on my heart, leading to swelling in my legs and shortness of breath. Though chronic, it’s manageable with weight management and a healthcare plan.

On her heavenly birthday, my ancestor, Kay Frances Joyner, moved through my mother, Bronnie, to make sure her grandchild, Tynisha, got the medical attention my mom had been praying for behind closed doors. This day already belonged to my grandmother, and now it’s also the day that changed my life.

I’m eternally grateful for every thought, prayer, and word of encouragement I’ve received over the past year. Since then, I’ve lost over 100 pounds, maintained an exercise and wellness routine, and officially became a Tantric Shaman—among other accomplishments.

There hasn’t been a moment when I didn’t feel the love and support of my village. Thank you all for being on this journey with me.

I kicked off my birthday with CRAZINESS as a guest on my brother’s podcast, The Big Mo Comedy Show. Straight shenanigans, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Saturday, September 7th

Started the day in a sacred way with Yemaya, embracing her energy and guidance on her Feast Day. Later, I had the honor of working with African Ancestry at the Smithsonian for Teaching Africa Day.

Connecting our people to our roots and legacy was soul-nourishing.

Sunday, September 8th

I feel like I officially got my Auntie Society membership card as I went hand dancing with my mom and uncle at the VFW near Andrews AFB. There’s nothing like music and a good ole two step to close the weekend.

Today is a magical day—a 9/9 portal, inviting bold transformation and the completion of old cycles. Day 9 of my birthday celebration calls for unapologetically being outside of the box and dancing to your own tune. Life has taught me that the path to true freedom isn’t paved with conformity, but with courage, creativity, and authenticity. I don’t just walk this path; I dance to it, in rhythm with the universe.

Numerology tells us that 9 symbolizes completion, but it also brings wisdom, compassion, and spiritual awakening. As I step into this new year of life, I embrace the full energy of 9—releasing the old and making space for the magic that’s ready to flow. My essence thrives in the boldness of color, the harmony of sound, and the pulse of astrology. This week, I’m calling in vibrant shades of turquoise and gold, inviting expansion, protection, and creativity through chromatherapy. These colors remind me that I am the artist of my own life, painting outside the lines, lighting my way with the stars.

The cosmos are speaking, and with the Sun in Virgo, I am definitely feeling like a SUPERHERO. Mercury is retrograding, giving me the opportunity to reassess, realign, and remember my truth. My Venusian energy is guiding me to honor beauty and love in all forms—starting with me. Today’s playlist is all about honoring this cosmic energy with songs that remind me of my infinite capacity to expand, evolve, and shine brighter.  Check out my “Dancing to My Own Tune for 9/9” Playlist

So, here I am, Turquoise, fully embracing my divine uniqueness. I invite you to join me in this dance, one step outside the box at a time. What will you boldly create today?

30 Days of Turquoise 2024 – Volume 49

30 Days of Turquoise 2024 – Volume 49

FIRST – I’d like to wish a very Happy Solar Return to all of the Virgos and my Birthday twins – childhood friend/classmate Chuck Coleman, linesister Cassie McGill, My friend/coworkers pikin Mattie (Simone Jones) and my Buddha Karter (Leon Reed).

49 years around the Sun, and here I am, standing in my fullness—radiant, unshaken, and more aligned with the sacred rhythm of my being than ever before. Every year, I’ve honored this day with deep reflection, tracing the steps of my journey from the day I was born to the woman I am today. This year is no different, yet it carries with it a new vibration, a deeper pulse, a more profound sense of expansion.

The number 49 (11 – Master Number) itself is a powerful number—rooted in wisdom, transformation, and mastery. I’ve embraced every lesson, every joy, and every challenge that has shaped me along the way. I’ve learned that I am both the artist and the canvas, continually painting, evolving, and creating. From the ashes, I rise again, with my Sacral Chakra energy glowing as my compass and creative fuel.

Madame Turquoise, as you know her, is a reflection of my soul’s essence. She is the woman who walks with the ancestors, who moves in harmony with the cosmos, and who invites you all to join her in the dance of life. Through love, through creativity, through visioning and healing, I have found my center. And from that center, I am ready to radiate even more light and more love into the world.

As I celebrate this sacred journey today and for the rest of this month, I give thanks to every soul who has walked with me, whispered wisdom to me, and stood beside me in moments of transformation. I honor you all. I honor myself. I honor the divine spark that connects us all.

Here’s to 49 years of magic, and to all that lies ahead.

Reflecting on the Last Day of My 48th Rotation

Reflecting on the Last Day of My 48th Rotation

[dsm_masonry_gallery _builder_version=”4.27.2″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” gallery_ids=”109523,109522,109521,109520,109519,109518″ dsm_sort_images=”off” use_horizontal_order=”off” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_masonry_gallery]

Looking over my Facebook memories, I noticed a beautiful tradition that began in 2014—a personal ritual of reflecting on the last day of each age. Today, as I close the chapter on my 48th Solar Rotation, I continue this tradition with gratitude and reverence.

This year has been nothing short of transformative. My 48th was a journey that asked for a deep focus on my mindset, a commitment to health, and a dedicated practice of self-care. The lessons I’ve learned about the power of prioritizing myself have been humbling, revealing, and empowering. I’ve discovered that self-care isn’t just about routines; it’s an active, continuous decision to nurture my physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through this dedication, I’ve tapped into resilience, balance, and new levels of creativity.

Numerology has also played a guiding role. The combined digits of 48 (4 + 8) give us 12, which reduces to 3. The number 3 embodies unique thinking, self-expression, and creativity—qualities that have flowed through every experience, discovery, and transformation this past year. I’ve learned to embrace my voice, my style, and the creative vision that is uniquely mine.

The energy of my personal year, 22/4, brought me face-to-face with mastery, potential, and high achievement. It was a year of aligning with purpose, setting a foundation for my dreams, and embracing my role as a co-creator in my own journey. I’ve built new structures within myself, grounded in wisdom and resilience, and now, as I look ahead, I’m preparing to dance with the energy of 23/5—a year symbolizing change, freedom, and adventure. It’s a season inviting me to explore, expand, and allow new possibilities into my life.

As I transition into my 49th rotation (4 + 9 = 11), the master number 11 brings its own energy of spiritual enlightenment, intuition, and deeper insight. It’s a time that calls for intentional growth, deeper self-discovery, and honoring my inner guidance. I’m stepping into this next chapter with an open heart, ready for what the universe has in store.

Cheers to new beginnings, continued self-awareness, and the thrill of change that awaits! Here’s to living in full color, celebrating each step, and embracing the creative evolution of self. ✨
