Yeye, today is your sacred day, and we honor you with deep gratitude and reverence. You are the mother to us all, the source of our nurturing, our protection, and our endless flow of love. Your presence is felt in the waters that flow, in the tides that rise and fall, and in the gentle strength that carries us through life’s storms. We are so blessed by your guidance, your power, and your unwavering care for your children.

I feel especially thankful for the bond we share and for all the blessings you have brought into my life and continue to bring each day. You have opened doors, provided protection, and reminded me of the strength that comes from knowing who we are and where we come from. It’s through you that I’ve received so many of the gifts that have guided me on my path, and I am forever grateful for them.

One of the greatest blessings you have given me is my Madrina, Rosa Grillo. Through your divine orchestration, she has come into my life as a powerful force of wisdom, love, and protection. She is truly a gift—one that I cherish with all my heart. Her guidance, care, and spirit have been a source of strength for me, and I love her so deeply for all that she is and all that she represents. I know that it is through you, Yeye, that this bond was created, and I give thanks for that connection every day.

On this sacred day, we offer you everything that is yours, everything you deserve and more. Today, the altars are full of your offerings—fruits, flowers, incense, and all of the things that honor your divine essence. You deserve every tribute, every prayer, and every moment of reverence for all that you give and all that you are.

With sevenfold love and devotion, we celebrate you today and every day. Thank you, Yeye, for being the eternal mother, for watching over us, and for continuing to bless us with your love, wisdom, and strength.

May this day be filled with all the offerings, love, and respect that you are so deserving of.

Oshun Feast Day 2022

Oshun Feast Day 2022

There is always something powerful and transformative we can learn from #Oshun, the Orisha of love, beauty, fertility, and sweet waters. For me, she shows up in the most profound ways, constantly reminding me of the power of femininity and softness in a world that often asks us to be hard. Oshun teaches me to embrace my feminine energy, to let it flow and lead in all that I do—it is my birthright to walk in this power.

Oshun embodies the divine feminine in all her glory—she is the essence of grace, sensuality, and charm. She reminds me that my femininity is not something to hide or suppress; it is something to lead with. It is through this softness, this nurturing energy, that I find my strength. Whether in my personal life or professional endeavors, Oshun whispers to me to remain connected to this aspect of myself. She teaches that femininity isn’t weakness—it is the source of my power, my creativity, and my ability to manifest abundance in every area of life.

And in those moments where life throws challenges my way, and I feel the pull to react with hardness, bitterness, or anger, Oshun reminds me to stay sweet. Even when I have every reason to turn on the sour, to let the world’s negativity seep in, she guides me back to my natural state of joy, love, and compassion. She doesn’t ask me to deny my feelings or suppress my power, but rather to channel it in ways that uplift and heal, rather than destroy.

One of the most special symbols Oshun and I share is the peacock—a bird that symbolizes beauty, pride, and magnificence. Just like the peacock, Oshun encourages me to stand tall, to spread my feathers, and to let my brilliance be seen. The peacock’s iridescent feathers remind me that there is beauty in being bold, in owning your uniqueness, and in living unapologetically in your truth. Oshun’s presence in my life teaches me that, like the peacock, I am meant to shine, to embrace my colors, and to walk with confidence in all that I do.

Today, on #OshunFeastDay, I give thanks for her sweet abundance. Her blessings are infinite, always flowing like the river she rules. She pours out love, prosperity, and wisdom, reminding me that I, too, am worthy of receiving all that is good in life. Her teachings go beyond the material—they touch the spiritual, showing me that the greatest riches come from within. In every act of love, in every expression of beauty, in every moment of joy, Oshun’s spirit is alive.

To all who walk with Oshun, may you continue to feel her sweetness, her grace, and her power in your life. And may we all remember that leading with our femininity is a divine gift—a birthright passed down from the Orisha herself.

Thank you, Oshun, for your sweet abundance, for the love you pour into me, and for the lessons that guide me on this journey.

Yemaya Feast Day 2022

Yemaya Feast Day 2022

Today is #YemayaFeastDay, and my heart is filled with gratitude and love for this powerful and nurturing Yoruba deity. From the moment I was introduced to Yemaya, I felt an unshakeable connection to her energy. While I haven’t undergone any official rituals that would formally align me with her, in my spirit, we are like spiritual besties. There’s a deep understanding between us, a bond that transcends titles or labels. She’s been my entry point into the world of African Traditional Religions (ATR) and African Diasporic Religions (ADR), and for that, she will always hold a special place in my spiritual journey.

Yemaya, or Yemoja, as she’s known in different traditions, is the mother of the oceans, the protector of women, and a fierce yet gentle force of nature. As I’ve continued to grow in my spiritual practice, I’ve noticed so much of myself in her. Her strength, her ability to nurture and protect, her deep emotional wisdom—these are all qualities I recognize within myself and continue to cultivate. Yemaya’s energy is vast, like the ocean she rules, and I see pieces of her in others around me as well. Whether it’s in the women who lead with love, the mothers who fiercely protect their children, or the people who stand as pillars in their communities, Yemaya’s spirit shows up in so many ways.

My journey through ATR and ADR has been nothing short of transformative. I’m learning more about myself, my ancestors, and the powerful energies that guide me. Every lesson, every ritual, every moment of reflection feels like another layer of understanding is being added to my soul. But no matter how far I travel on this path, Yemaya will always be my first love. She was the one who opened the door for me, who invited me to explore the depths of spiritual wisdom and healing.

Today, I honor Yeye with all my heart. I offer her the respect and love she so richly deserves. Yemaya’s energy is both calming and empowering, reminding me that I can be soft like the ocean waves and strong like the tides that shape the shorelines. Her teachings have guided me through so many emotional waters, and I am forever grateful for her presence in my life.

So, on this sacred day, I lift up my voice in celebration of Yemaya. Whether she is called Yemoja, Iemanja, or Mami Wata, her energy remains consistent—a force of divine femininity, protection, and abundance. To everyone who walks with Yemaya, may you continue to feel her love and guidance as you navigate your own spiritual waters.

Happy Feast Day, Yeye! May your waters always flow, bringing healing, wisdom, and protection to all who seek your embrace.
